cool DX
                      on the air this weekend!

Rare, semi-rare and fun DX on-the-air now! "This Weekend's DX!" - updated every Friday at 0200 UTC (10PM Eastern Thursdays)  Work the DX better-faster-funner!

This Weekend's DX! - Friday August 14, 2015 01:00 UTC

How do we select stations for "This Weekend's DX"?

Unfortunately, we don't have time or resources to cover every holiday style operation on-the-air from fairly common entities. There is nothing wrong with those DX vacations and they can be a lot of fun! But here we will focus on the more rare and DXCC significant activations.

These are some "rough" guidelines for inclusion on this page:

1) The DX entity should be in the top two hundred on Club Log's "Most Wanted" list or there must be something unusual about the DX activation that makes it noteworthy enough (example - six meter expedition from a rare grid) to be included here.

2) The DX activation must be focused on a specific time period of
planned activity. Operations that are "holiday style" or "when time permits" generally won't be included here unless it's from a very rare entity.

3) Long term activations (more than a few weeks) generally won't be included either.
We're back - but it seems the summer DX doldrums are still with us!

No major DXpeditions or rare DXCC activations are planned for this week but I will be featuring the T46BC operation from Cuba as it is a serious ten operator effort that will be especially interesting to hams who chase the "light house" special event stations.T46BC on "This Weekend's
                                DX"

Also this week there are a few "spare time-holiday style" activations including a satellite op from Haiti and a (mostly WARC and six meter) op from the Gambia. I will include a link below for some sources of info on these operations

Next month we should see an uptick in interesting DX activations including planned ops from Albania, Wake Island, Niue, Zimbabwe, Cocos Keeling and others.

The major DXpedition season will kick off with the TX3X / Chesterfield expedition in October...

As you scroll down the page you will see links to help you find, work and QSL the DX operations that are planned for this weekend.

Remember to check back here often for "flash" bulletins plus our scheduled weekly update every Friday between 0000 and 02:00 UTC - which is Thursday evenings in North America and early Friday mornings in Europe.
